2013-11-12Great to see that stats are up in October, and highest since 5 years ago according to the Realtors Association of Edmonton. Youthful buyers are the majority in buying homes, as the economy in the work force remains steady this increases the demand for housing.

EDMONTON – The Realtors Association of Edmonton says youthful buyers were responsible for the highest October home sales in five years.
“Total annual sales are the highest they have been for five years and we had the best October in five years as well, said association president Darrell Cook.
“The youthful nature of our city and good job prospects means that the demand for housing remains high.”
Residential sales, not including late-reported transactions, totalled 1,346 in October for the Edmonton census metropolitan area, up 7.0 per cent year-over-year.
The average selling price for a single-family dwelling was $397,613, up 2.5 per cent year-over-year.
The average condominium selling price was $235,680, up 2.0 per cent from the same month last year.
