Marketing Manager

We are seeking a Marketing Manager who is organized, reliable, professional, and creative.  This person is a positive and flexible team player who possesses exceptional marketing and communications skills.  This is a client facing role that requires regular correspondence with real estate developers and vendors.  Interpersonal skills and attention to detail are a MUST.

The Must Haves:

Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Loves creativity and bringing forth new ideas, branding is a huge part of what we do!  Knowledge of media and PR initiatives.  Excellent time management skills and able to work well under pressure.  Must love dogs (seriously…we have an office dog)!

Requirements:

  • University degree or College diploma in marketing, business, or communications and minimum 2 years related marketing or communications experience
  • Exceptional computer skills and ability to quickly learn new applications
  • Knowledge of WordPress
  • Knowledge of best practices in social media marketing
  • Knowledge of best practices in SEO/Google Analytics
  • Experience with MailChimp
  • Experience with Lasso CRM is an asset
  • Knowledge of Adwords is an asset
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite – Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop is an asset
  • Knowledge of the Real Estate industry is an asset
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Key Responsibilities:

This list of duties is not exhaustive; other duties may be assigned as business needs arise:

Management Duties:

  • Interviewing, hiring, and training of marketing department staff members (as needed)
  • Leadership for the Marketing Assistants & Project Coordinators that report to you- you will be a primary point of contact for marketing staff when department related queries or issues arise
  • Review and editing of material produced within the marketing department
  • Delegation and coordination of tasks amongst marketing staff
  • Submission of awards applications and related opportunities as they arise for the Fortune brand
  • Participation in management level meetings and marketing staff reviews

Content/Communications:

  • Content development and copywriting for websites, email marketing campaigns, and various marketing material
  • Writing and distributing press releases
  • Correspondence with clients and sales agents as required
  • Maintaining Lasso CRM system and database
  • Preparing business correspondence (using Microsoft Office Suite)

Project Coordination:

  • Manage day to day marketing / messaging operations of assigned projects
  • Participate in creating the marketing strategy and product positioning of Fortune Marketing and their Developments
  • Assist in the development of media strategies and planning, including purchasing
  • Coordinate project management details with outside suppliers (graphic designers, signage, printers, web designers, renderings, etc.)
  • Regularly updating and maintaining assigned social medial channels
  • Updating all online advertising, social media advertising and online company listings
  • Managing updates to signage and all marketing materials
  • Regularly updating collateral and maintaining supplies at sales centres
  • Assist in the planning and execution of direct mail and electronic mail strategies
  • Ensure accuracy and track approvals for print and online advertising submissions
  • Assist in planning and executing events

Budgeting/Tracking/Reporting/Admin:

  • Work with clients to determine marketing budget
  • Sourcing for suppliers, submitting invoices and logging accordingly
  • Submit Developer and Company expenses in an accurate and timely manner and logging accordingly
  • Analyzing, tracking and reviewing marketing and sales data
  • Prepare monthly marketing reports for projects
  • Attend meetings with prepared agendas and supporting documents
  • Coordination with Development team in resolving day-to-day administrative matters
  • Aid/coverage for Fortune Marketing office/sales team where required (including vacation coverage)

Terms of Employment:

Permanent, Full time.  Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, however there will be times when flexible days/hours are required.  Downtown Kelowna office.  Competitive salary and bonus No phone calls please.
